(Error Code) Marmot relentlessly attacking me.

All jokes aside,

Once a day or so, I launch the game (or sometimes while loading into a map) and I get the Marmot error code. When this first began i went through all the troubleshooting tips around verifying files, etc to no avail. There were never any issues found with game files. I also tried uninstalling/reinstalling. This did not fix the issue. Once i get this error code, the only way to get back into the game is to Restart steam, or in some cases restart the PC. For me, at least, one of these 2 "solutions" will fix it 100% of the time - until the next day when it occurs again. Having this same issue non-stop, memory diagnostic populates hardware error - then some days it is perfectly fine for 6 hours straight. Tried changing from surge protector to outlet and that allotted the aforementioned 6 hour session. As of yesterday (10/07) I was playing just fine for about 3 hours and received error code Marmot. I have tried all known troubleshooting for this particular error code, Bungie please help me with a way to truly identify if this is a hardware issue. Thank you.

    Hello there,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Error Code Marmot occurs when the Marathon game files have been corrupted and need to be repaired or verified. For steps to repair the game files on each supported platform, please see our help guide.

If the above didn’t help, please run "chkdsk" on your computer to correct any hard drive issues.

  • I have tried chkdsk and sfc/ scannow, I also have ran a memory diagnostic and this is what prompted me with a bluescreen hardware error, contact manufacturer. Would it most likely be a hardware issue if chkdsk comes up clear every time I tried?
