Code Plum after many attempts to fix

My friend and I have tried everything under the sun the problem is after 10-20 minutes they get error code plum and they are allowed to rejoin, the steps we have tried is as follows Fresh windows install, making sure network drivers are sound and good to and trying WiFi and wired, DNS flush, router updates and port forwarding battleye and marathon, uninstalling and reinstalling battleye then when that didn’t work marathon, we did a blank slate install with just the drivers and still happening. These are Amazon eeros if that helps and the only thing I can think of at this point is it’s a ISP issue or battleye flagging the controllers PS5, Series Xbox if you guys have more steps because I did everything on the forums for plum plus many more and it’s just not letting them play even though they want to.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out.

If you haven't already, please try the troubleshooting steps in our Error Code: MARMOT guide as this error is also related to BattlEye services. If the error persists, BattlEye may be detecting a suspicious version.dll file in your steam folder which could be causing issues with the game. Please try deleting it and try again if so.

For more information about the PLUM error code, check out this page.

  • We’ve also tried that, and we did cold run with nothing other than drivers installed and it still acts the same way so I don’t think the Steam DLL could have been there for that. It’s got me pressed because we’ve thrown the sink at it trying to get it to work.

  • Hi again,

The PLUM error code can be triggered by various tools, drivers, or connectivity issues BattlEye doesn’t like.

    Could you try the following:

    • Make sure there are no cheat or debug tools installed or even leftover folders, especially anything like “Cheat Engine 6.7” or similar, and close any overclocking, monitoring or overlay utilities while playing.
    • Double check that Windows is fully up to date, including optional security and .NET updates.
    • Temporarily disable or uninstall third-party antivirus/firewall/VPN and test
    • If that helps, please try adding Marathon and BattlEye to your Anti Virus whitelist or allow-list rather than leaving protection off.
    • If you are using Kaspersky, go to Settings (Big Cog) > Security Settings (or Additional) > Threats and exclusions > Manage Exclusions and then add both Marathon and BattlEye and save.
    • For the router, please try these steps:
      • Turn off any “advanced security”, ad-blocking, or parental-control features on the router.
      • Test by bypassing Eero (plug PC directly into the modem if possible) or
      • Test on a mobile hotspot / different network.

  • So I made sure nothing was installed like Ryzen master because I know that can be flagged sometimes, we did try to run marathon with windows defender disabled and no luck there. We can try the hotspot method because it’s a Kentucky fiber company they have so we can’t do the modem direct I’ll update you if that manages to push it through

  • Update we have tried hotspot and with the auto add block off and it still gives a query timeout error code plum, we also did another clean install of steam just to make sure no dll issues. It is Altafiber in Kentucky but we’re just unsure what to do at this point because as you can see we’ve tried a lot to get the game to hold steady it started happening after you fixed the matchmaking into other regions strangely. If you have any other info or things to try let me know!
