Screen stuck on signing in screen

Hello

I am stuck in the sign in screen. This problem started after the 1.0.5.2 update. I have tried restarting the game, reset my network and checked my firewall settings.

I play on pc

Edit: I still can't sign in after doing all the troubelshooting Bungie is reccomending. In every other game I can sign in perfectly without issues. Only game where I can't sign in is Marathon.

    Hello there,

Thank you very much for reaching out to us. I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues getting into the game. It appears that extensive troubleshooting has already been attempted, but in case there's something in our documentation that you've missed, I've included links to the Help Article for this error code, our Basic Network Troubleshooting, and Advanced Network Troubleshooting Guides.

We've also gone ahead and taken note of this thread and will continue monitoring any issues that may be causing this to occur. If all of those fail, we'd also recommend reaching out to your Internet Service Provider to see if there's any additional troubleshooting they may be able to provide while we continue to monitor any underlying issues.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Could you try the following troubleshooting steps to see if it helps with signing into Marathon:

    • Fully exit Marathon and Steam and Reboot your PC.
    • Power-cycle modem/router (unplug 30–60s, plug back in).
    • When internet is back, launch Steam → Marathon once and wait a few minutes at “Signing in…”.
    • In Windows Security → Firewall & network protection → Allow an app, make sure Marathon and your launcher (Steam) are allowed for Private and Public networks.
    • Temporarily disable any third-party antivirus/VPN and test once.
    • If possible, briefly test via a mobile hotspot or different network.
    • If it signs in there but not on the normal connection, note that in your reply.
    • In Steam, run Verify integrity of game files for Marathon.
    • In Steam, also try Steam → Settings → Downloads → Clear Download Cache, then log back in and relaunch Marathon.

If you are still unable to sign in after the above troubleshooting, please provide the following:

    • You region and ISP
    • Your time zone
    • The approximate last time when you:
    1. Last successfully signed in (before 1.0.5.2), and
    2. Most recently got stuck on “Signing in…”.
    • Whether testing on a different network changed anything.

  • Had the same issue yesterday on April 1st. Was able to sign in and play a few raids fine in the morning, but when I came back in the evening it no longer let me get past "Signing in..."

I attempted all troubleshooting suggested in this thread, to no avail. I should note that I do not currently have internet set up at my new apartment, and am playing off of a mobile hotspot (notably, however, I'm still able to play other multiplayer games with no overt latency issues). However, I've been playing Marathon this way all week with no issues until yesterday.

    Region: USA (MST)
Last Successful Sign in: April 1st, around 11am (MST)
Most Recent Attempt: April 2nd at 11:30am (MST)

  • Hi there,

We had a player with the same issue try the following steps with success today. Could you try the following and let us know if it helps:

    • Fully close Marathon and Steam.
    • If you use a VPN, please close it.
    • Power-cycle your modem and router (unplug for 30–60 seconds, then plug back in).
    • After the internet is back, reboot your PC.
    • Launch Steam → Marathon (with no VPN if you use one) and wait a couple of minutes at “Signing in…”.
    • Flush DNS and reset network stack

      • In Windows, open Command Prompt as Administrator and run, one by one:
        • ipconfig /flushdns
        • netsh int ip reset
        • netsh winsock reset
      • Reboot the PC, then try Marathon again.
    • Change DNS away from ISP defaults

      • Windows Settings → Network & Internet → Advanced network settings → More network adapter options.
      • Right-click your active connection → Properties → Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) → Properties.
      • Set DNS to Manual and use, for example:
        • Preferred: 8.8.8.8
        • Alternate: 1.1.1.1
      • OK → reboot → try Marathon again.
    • Temporarily disable extra filters

      • Turn off any third-party firewall, antivirus, or router-level security features.
      • Make sure no router-side VPN / DNS filter is still active even when your PC VPN (if you use one) app is off.

  • What pains me is that  this problem started after the recent update and every other game even destiny 2 lets me sign in. So I think it isn't my internet problem, I think there might me a problem with the game.

  • Hi again,

Thank you for letting me know that those steps didn't help.

I have passed all of your reports onto the dev team for further investigation. As soon as I have some additional information to share or if more information is needed, I will let you all know.

  • Using a VPN worked for me as well! Definitely only a temporary solution as it introduces some latency issues, but I'm just glad to finally play the game again.

  • Great workaround! Since I’m on PS5, I can’t easily use a VPN, but your success is definitive proof that there is nothing wrong with our consoles or local setups.
This will definitely give some peace of mind to other Runners facing the same issue. Let’s keep pushing the dev team for a permanent fix!

  • I tried to use Myssy84 method but still no luck here, resetting my router didn't do anything, can it be that it has something to do with wifi running on routers that uses sim cards? because i too have a huawei mobile router

  • Confirmed having a VPN on allows me to load in and play the game now. No other solutions posted in this thread are fixing the issue.
