Huge FPS drop when shields break. Is there a fix?
I consistently get a huge drop in frames per second every time my shield breaks. Normally the game runs at 60, with some weather effects causing it to dip below 55, but still staying above 50. Every time my shield breaks the game drops below 20 FPS (around 15).
Here's one example: I was in a fairly empty area (bots dead), no rain or fog effects, I droped down from a building and missed the box is was aiming for, fall damage caused my shields to break and my frames per second plumeted from 60 to below 20. There was nothing else going on. Just the particle effect from the broken shield.
Having an enormous FPS drop in firefights whenever my shields break is a serious gameplay issue. It's the worst possible time to drop below 20 FPS.
I generally have effects set to low, I've tried both DLSS and CMAA, but nothing seems to have an effect on this issue.
