As a first step, we recommend verifying game file integrity through Steam to see if that helps. If the issue persists, please ensure that your drivers, version of Windows, and BIOS are all updated to their most recent versions. If the previous options haven't helped, please try uninstalling and reinstalling the game.
After doing all of the above, if the issue still happens consistently whenever Smooth Motion is enabled, could you please try to capture a brief video that demonstrates this? You can upload the footage to a public video hosting site, like YouTube, then post the link here and we’ll be glad to take a look. Additionally, please include your system specs and any other details you feel are pertinent to the issue.
Probably has something to do with how DLSS Framegen is an option now.
I think so too. After testing the built-in framegen, I found Smooth Motion to be much more stable and decided to switch back to it. But now it's impossible.

What I've already tried:
Verify game files
Update graphics card drivers
Reinstall the game

I'd also like to clarify that I played almost the entire first season with Smooth Motion enabled and had almost no problems.

R7 7700
RAM 32 GB
Win 11 Pro 10.0.26200
Driver GameReady 610.47
