Weasel Code after Changing Username

Bug Summary: User is unable to access Marathon Servers after changing username.
Conduct the following:
Have Marathon loaded, in game (Via Steam, specifically).
User changes Bungie ID in Google on another monitor.
User is able to maneuver throughout application.
User queues game.
User is kicked and unable to access the game since.
Please let me know if there is anything that I am able to do on my end.

Thanks for the report.
Based on what’s currently known, this looks like it may be two issues overlapping rather than username changes directly causing WEASEL.
There was an investigated issue where some usernames were being incorrectly redacted on login because of an overly aggressive name filter, and Bungie names are also re-checked during login. If a name gets flagged, it can be reset to a default Redacted format.
At the same time, Error Code: WEASEL is still currently treated as a network-related error and is covered by the Network Troubleshooting Guide.
So while the timing makes it understandable to connect the two, there isn’t a confirmed reference showing that a username change by itself causes WEASEL. Right now the safest guidance is that there were ongoing username/login issues under investigation, while WEASEL itself is still being handled as a network error.
