consistent client correction / server validation issues (?)

it seems that when playing the game, my client's predicted position is consistently being corrected by being clamped to a certain radius from the most recent server validation of my client position and/or state - which makes sense, however im uncertain how this can be fixed or if its my end. from what i can tell, the prediction is working, there are just times where i wont be able to move outside a radius. this is also fairly consistent - occurring every 10-60s - making the game fairly difficult to play. also upon exiting this radius via jumping, my client's position will be interpolated back to the center of the radius (which ig is like rubber banding)

 

additionally, during this time, interactions dont seem to work. considering that interactions dont work when the server is struggling to validate my position, its possible that packets either arent being sent from my computer or that they arent being received (maybe a result of server validation of position, or just that simply nothing is being sent or at least struggling to be sent).

- interestingly, however, reloads do seem to work on my client view during these issues with server validation, might be worth looking into to avoid exploits, though i could be misremembering. eg it appears that all the reload logic is client sided

 

Finally, at worst, ill be kicked from the lobby and opted to return at a later point, which im usually able to do.

 

apologies if my terminology is incorrect or rudimentary, but from what i could tell, this is probably whats going on. feel free to correct me if necessary (something interesting to learn i think)

  • Platform - Steam
  • Description of Issue - server validation issues, maybe significant packet loss (probably a result of serve validation)
  • Rough Date and Time of issue - today consistently when i played (within the last hour and a couple hours ago)
  • Repro steps - simple movement on my end.
  • LINKS: since i wanted to rule out any third party issues, i opted not to use obs so unfortunately no recordings on my end

 

final note: i understand this may not mean a lot, but this really doesnt happen for other games i play. I also use an ethernet connection for internet, which does appear to work otherwise.

final final note: i also tested with nothing running in the background, which the error did appear to continue

final final final note: i notice that there are 4 dots at the top right of the screen and that there is text at the bottom of my screen saying that my client is contacting the server and my client will freeze at points as well
