Unable to use Cross-Save due to old account link. No support options available
Hello everyone,
After trying Marathon on my Steam account, I decided today to play on my PlayStation 5 to relax on the couch. I naïvely assumed I would be able to use the same save data easily.
That’s when I discovered that I needed to link my Sony account to a Bungie account. Unfortunately, this is where I ran into a major issue: my Sony account is already linked to a different Bungie account that I apparently created back in 2019. Most likely by accident when logging into the Bungie website using my Sony credentials.
So now, the two accounts I would like to use for cross-save (sony and steam) are tied to two separate Bungie accounts.
From what I understand, since March 2025 it is no longer possible to unlink platform accounts from a Bungie account. I then thought I could simply delete the second Bungie account that was created by mistake... but that also appears to be impossible.
My next step I assume was to contact Bungie support to request an unlink or account deletion. To my surprise, there seems to be absolutely no direct support available:

No email address
-
No proper support ticket system
At this point, it seems completely impossible for me to use the cross-save feature because of a mistake I made in 2019. That feels extremely frustrating and, frankly, unreasonable. I wont create a new PlayStation or Steam account for one game only.
Is there any official solution for situations like this?
Or am I permanently locked out of cross-save because of an old accidental account creation?

Once a platform account is linked to Bungie.net profile it cannot be unlinked. Deleting an account does not unlink the account.
Due to mandatory security policy, Bungie is not able to remove connected platform accounts from Bungie.net profiles under any circumstances.
This policy is very restrictive and honestly disappointing. I understand that account links are now permanent. However, when I originally linked my account, this restriction did not exist.
Bungie is the only platform I’ve encountered that enforces this level of restriction on account linking. Even your main competitors offer more flexibility and allow users to manage or unlink their accounts. The current approach feels unnecessarily limiting compared to industry standards.
I sincerely hope Bungie will reconsider this decision, especially for accounts linked before the change, so players like me can fully enjoy cross-save without unnecessary limitations.
That said, I still appreciate you taking the time to respond.
