Audio Garbles/Statics Up When Certain Audio Plays

MoistBananaBread#8699

I have a wireless headset that uses a dongle to connect. I reinstalled the game recently and I've noticed a lot of this garbling/static happening, and it's pretty common. The most prevalent I've noticed that seems to be consistently bad is being near the Datawall on Diremarsh. I don't know if it's just a wireless issue, I will definitely test it after this(I should've before writing this tbh) I've verified the files on steam, maybe thought it was a low battery issue but it wasn't. Maybe I can reinstall the game? But it probably won't fix? I did talk about it in the official discord and someone responded that they had a bluetooth headset that caused the same issue.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out!

First, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    • Test the game with wired headphones or speakers, if you are able to.
    • In the game’s audio settings, manually select your headset for both game audio and voice chat instead of using “Default.”
    • Make sure Windows is using the headset’s normal stereo output, not its hands-free/communications mode.
    • Temporarily disable Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos, or any headset surround/EQ software.
    • Update the headset and wireless dongle firmware, then restart the PC.

If you haven't already, please see our Audio and Voice Troubleshooting guide for tips on configuring your audio setup for Marathon.

If you're still having trouble after the above steps, please capture a short video showing the garbled audio near the Datawall. Please make sure that the recording includes game audio and show the headset name and in-game audio settings.

Please use your platform's capture button to take a video. You can upload the footage to a public video hosting site, like YouTube, then post the link here, and we’ll be glad to take a look
