Noise when using wired headphones

I am experiencing excessive static like noise (according to my teammates and others in proximity chat) when using wired headphones. I'm using Jlab Bluetooth headphones and earbuds and HyperX Cloud III with both the 3.5mm adaptor and the usb input. My only valid solution is the use the PC's (Rog Xbox Ally X) built in mic, but it is too quiet for my teammate's to reliably hear. I do not have these problems when using a third party software like Discord during a run nor in other games.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Please see our Audio and Voice Troubleshooting guide for tips on configuring your audio setup for Marathon.

We would also suggest trying the following:
Open mmsys.cpl and set the exact headset and mic you want to use as both Default Device and Default Communications Device under Playback and Recording, then restart Marathon. If a Bluetooth headset is paired, disable its Hands-Free/Telephony endpoint before launching the game.

If you're still having trouble, try using a different audio device to rule out potential issues with the device itself. If you've isolated the problem to one headset, please consider reaching out to the manufacturer for specialized troubleshooting.
