PC Randomly Shuts Down
Hello,
Just picked up Marathon and I'm totally addicted to it! Unfortunately, the game seems to randomly completely shut down my PC. There is no BSOD, no error in the event viewer (other than "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."). The machine simply shuts off.
At first I thought it was a PSU problem, because the thing was loud and hot anyway. So I pulled some strings to afford a new one, and the game was perfect for a day- but now the shut downs have returned.
I guess for context, I've seen this happen in exactly one other game one time- Nier Automata, about a month ago. Nothing else has ever caused my PC to behave like this.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with stability when trying to play the game.
To start out, if you are on PC, we'd recommend trying to verify the game file integrity through steam to see if it helps. If the issue persists, please ensure that all of your drivers, windows, and your BIOS are all fully up-to-date. Lastly, if those two steps don't help, please try uninstalling and reinstalling the game.
If you still run into the same issue despite all of this, can you provide us with a copy of your DxDiag? You can copy and paste it over on PasteBin and provide us with the link.
