PC hard crashes after launching the game
A few minutes after launching the game (seems to happen at random), my PC turns off and reboots after a short delay. Nothing helpful is logged in windows event viewer, just kernel power error 41. I have updated to the latest nvidia drivers. I don't have any form of overclocking on my CPU, and have 360mm liquid cooling, so I don't suspect it's thermals. Power connection is stable and fine, doesn't happen on any other game I have played. I re-installed the game at the start of season 2, so should be a fresh install. Never faced issues like this in season 1. Happens consistently, every time across 3-4 attempts.
Specs:
windows 11 pro version 25H2
13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900K (3.00 GHz)
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 (24 GB)
32.0 GB (31.8 GB usable)
mb: Pro-Z790-P
32gb DDR5 memory
1TB SSD

Hello there,
Thanks for the detailed report, and I’m sorry you’re running into this.
We are seeing reports of PC crashes after Season 2, including launch/sign-in crashes, so the fact that this started only after the update and is now happening consistently is helpful context.
The full system reboot piece is especially important. If you happen to use a Focusrite/Scarlett audio interface, there is a known issue where the Focusrite USB MIDI driver can cause Marathon to hard crash and reboot the PC. In that specific case, disabling the Focusrite USB MIDI driver in Device Manager has helped some players while still allowing audio to work normally.
If that does not apply here, we’re still continuing to track reports like this, and the specs and details you included are useful for investigation.
My audio devices include:
With SteelSeries sonar being my primary audio driver, so doesn't appear to be the case. I am not sure if it could be anti-cheat or not (I don't cheat), but I have the following things installed which could potentially proc an anti-cheat depending on how they work (I don't know) or what your policies are - custom curve and scopex might be new since the last time I played:
Custom Curve: https://mouseacceleration.com/index.html - fancy mouse acceleration that lets me set sensitivity response curves for mice to make MnK more accessible to me
CrosshairX: steam app for rendering custom crosshair overlays
ScopeX: steam app for zooming in on stuff (once again, for accessibility)
Mice software: Glorious core, logitech g hub, razer synapse
Happy to uninstall any of these if it could potentially be an anti cheat problem or if it's against your policies. Though, it's worth mentioning, I tried launching the game without custom curve, crosshairx and scopex, and noticed the same results - also, this software doesn't violate ToS for any other game I have played.
Just let me know,
Thanks!
