Is Friend List Wiping Intentional when linking your account?
I have done the research so I just have to ask, why are we wiping friend lists? Why after 600 hours+ and 100 some odd dollars is my friend list "temporary". I joined my account just so I could access the support forms, and in return the response is to wipe my "temporary" friends? This is beyond devastating, who keeps "screen shots of their friends list" thats the most absurd thing to ask anyone. So why is this in place and why is there not a disclaimer warning that your friend list will be wiped? I started out a lone wolf and worked so hard to get to where I am and establish an group of friends that I could run with, within this community. This. Is. Crazy.

I’m really sorry this happened. Losing a friends list you built up over hundreds of hours is understandably upsetting.
This does not look like a normal or intended “friend list reset.”
We are aware of situations where linking through Bungie.net can result in a different BungieId becoming the parent account and the friends tied to the Marathon-side BungieId are then lost.
We are also aware that the flow may be missing clearer messaging about what could be lost during that process.
I know that doesn’t undo the damage here, but you’re not wrong to be frustrated by it. This has been escalated for investigation.
Thank you for the acknowledgment. For the investigation, my original Marathon BungieID was [ZooAnimals#8686] and the current ID after linking is [ZooAnimals#1244]. Since you've confirmed this is a known issue with the parent account flow, I am requesting an escalation to have my "unlinked" friends list manually restored or merged. I'll be watching for updates here before pursuing further account recovery options.
I can't even put into words the excitement I had going into this cryo knowing that it was going to remain open for the rest of the season. PLEASE BUNGIE
As I feared this was just an AI slop response to keep me at bay. If this cannot be resolved I am escalating my request from friend list recovery to a full refund. Including the money spent on in game purchases and the second purchase of this game for a friend. So unacceptable.
