Connection issues since last patch

  • Description of Issue - I have been out of town since Tuesday April 14. I returned home today, Sunday, April 19, and downloaded the most recent patch and attempted to play Marathon. I was able to load into the game but I constantly had the "high ping" and "high packet loss" notifications in the top right of my screen. This is the first time I have seen these appear when playing Marathon (have played since launch on PC). My girlfriend also had the same issue playing on the same internet, though she is using an ethernet cable and I am not. We tried restarting the modem and router twice, restarted our PC's, restarted the Marathon client, we tried verifying Marathon game files. We also tried playing Multiplayer games of other types and we had no issues. I was able to play ARC Raiders and she was able to play Dead By Daylight with no problems. After trying some of these troubleshooting solutions and launching the Marathon client to try playing again, we were immediately given the "passionfruit" error for trying to load into a gaming session with high ping. We have not been able to actually load into a game since closing the game client after the initial laggy session. 
  • Rough Date and Time of issue - Between 8pm EST and 10pm EST on Sunday April 19
  • Repro steps - Launching the game after last patch.

    Error Code: Passionfruit means that you are being prevented from entering matchmaking due to our system detecting too high ping. It can also indicate that you are likely experiencing poor or inconsistent networking conditions.

    To that point, we recommend consulting our Network Troubleshooting Guide to explore potential solutions.

  • Thank you for your reply. I will try resetting my internet systems again. The more that it seems that the most recent patch may have caused these matchmaking issues. I am hoping a future patch fixes these issues so that we can play again.

  • Today, both my girlfriend and I were able to play several matches without seeing the passionfruit error or the high latency/high packet loss messages. it seems this was a temporary server connection issue. Thank you for your help!
