Account Linking With Progress
Hello,
Sorry if this is a common query, but ive started playing Marathon on steam, and my name is "redacted XXXX". I have not linked my steam account to any Bungie.net account before, and my main bungie account is an xbox associated one.
I have not played marathon on any other system.
Im wondering if i link my steam account to my xbox based main bungie account, will I lose my current marathon progress? or will it merge?

Thanks for reaching out.
If you haven't already played Marathon on any other platform aside from Steam, it will not overwrite progress if you enable Cross Save. If you want to link your Steam account to your Bungie account and then play Marathon on Xbox, you should be able to load up the game once the accounts are linked correctly and continue your progress. You will need to purchase Marathon for each platform that you wish to play on.
If you already have played Marathon on Xbox as well as on your Steam account, you will be given a choice to choose which Marathon account progress to keep if linking to the same Bungie.net Profile. After both confirmation windows, Marathon progress on the accounts not chosen will be deleted and replaced with the chosen account progress. There is no merging of progress for Marathon when setting up Cross Save. This is a permanent action and we cannot restore lost progress if this is done incorrectly.
