Stuck in 'Continue Waiting?' Loop Forever

Bungie Account Name - Aries#3927
- Platform - Steam
- Description of Issue - After exfiltrating from Perimeter myself and my team (Trio, all on Steam) faced a 'Continue Waiting' screen. After many 'continues', I force quit the game, reloaded back in. Same Screen. I went to bed, 8 hours later, loaded up the game, same screen still. Only choice to play was to 'return to lobby' and lose all of the gear I brought in, and the enormous amount of loot we'd all collected. Very irritating.
- Rough Date and Time of issue - It was not a crash, but it was around 11.30pm Melbourne time (Australia) on the 18th of March.
- Repro steps - There doesn't seem to be any specific step; we all encountered the same issue but had different equipment and different loot.

This is the 10th or so post about this issue on the forums in the last 24 hours. It would be great if Bungie could admit it has to do with the recent patch and servers, not people's individual connection to the game.
Yep the message itself is also frustratingly opaque - no hint of culpability, of resolution, it's literally like being stuck on hold with a government agency before you hear the dreaded "do you still want to hold, press 1, otherwise please hang up and lose your place", and on it goes to eternity.

Should we all just alt + F4 on the continue waiting screen and wait until y'all hot fix this or are the loadouts gone either way?
