Marathon becoming background process | Repost

Every time I launch the game, it starts up as a background process.

I've tried a bunch of popular fixes to remedy the issue but the result is the same each time.

It will say that it's launching the game in the BattlEye launcher, pops up in my task bar for a moment, but then just disappears and goes to a background process.

I'm playing on Steam.

My GPU is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080

I've been experiencing this issue since the start of the server slam.

Hi there,

Thank you for your report.

We understand that whenever you launch Marathon, it launches as a background process. This does sound odd to us. So we can effectively look into this, could you kindly share a DxDiag with us?

You should be able to obtain one via the following steps:
1. Restart your machine.
2. When you log in, please click on the Windows icon, then type dxdiag. If typed correctly, only one command should appear. Please click it. (If you need to enter the credentials of an administrator of the PC, please do so).
3. Allow the tool to run. A green bar should progress on the bottom portion of the window. If you receive any dialogue boxes as it progresses, please address them accordingly.
4. Once the tool is completed, please click on the "Save All Information" button. Save the resulting text file in an easy to find location, such as your Desktop. Then, close the tool.
5. Open the text file you just created and copy all of text to your clipboard by selecting all of it (Ctrl+A) and copying it (Ctrl+C OR right-click and click Copy). Then, close the file.
6. Go to pastebin.com
7. In the text box below, paste all of the text in the box.
8. If you would like to make your system specs hidden, you can change the Paste Exposure to Unlisted. This will hide it from the Public section of the site but still allow people to view your Paste. Then, click the Create New Paste button.
9. Copy the resulting URL and reply back with the pasted URL.
Once we have this info, we will review.

Having reviewed the DxDiag, we haven't identified any particular issues which would be causing what you describe. As such, could you provide us with a linked videoclip of this issue you experience? We'll then investigate this further.

Thanks for the footage.

Having reviewed this issue further, we have some suggestions to make. To begin with, are your drivers up-to-date? If not, does updating them help?

If your drivers are up-to-date and you're still experiencing this, then you may wish to clear the Steam Download Cache, and Verify the Integrity of Game Files. If, even after these suggestions, you experience this issue, then do let us know and we'll see what else we can hopefully recommend.

I have attempted the previous instructions and am still unsuccessful.
I did receive the 'marmot' error message once, so I installed Destiny 2.
Unfortunately, still the issue persists.
