marathon produces black screen upon start up
game produces black screen on start up and stays there with no crash until user intervention. i have tried rolling back GPU drivers, verifying game files, reinstalling game, nothing works. 345 hours of consistent gameplay to end like this gotta be the nail on the coffin for me. I don't know what else to do

Hello there,
Thank you for reaching out and reporting this issue.
Are you seeing any error messages when you boot the game? Does BattlEye give you any errors? If it does, please share a screenshot.
If you are using an AMD GPU or GPU, have you recently updated any drivers? Have you tried rolling back the drivers?
If you still run into the same issue despite all of this, can you provide us with a copy of your DxDiag? You can copy and paste it over on PasteBin and provide us with the link.
update your cpu drivers are you by chance using AMD/Ryzen cpu? thats what caused the same issue on my end making battle eye block the libxess.dl file
my cpu driver are already up to date and has not proven to solve this issue, i have a AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D 8-Core Processor (4.70 GHz). so for i am hearing it is a conflicting issue between battleye and the game itself, battle eye is blocking an important game file before the game even boots causing a black screen with no GPU activity, im also hearing it may be due to the recent AMD gpu, cpu and software update. yesterday bungie stated they are working on it but i assumed it would've been resolved today already but i guess not.
Bungie Support i have tried all of those solutions and nothing have worked. i even tried to generate a memory dump file but the file has no data in it meaning the game has no activity to report just a black screen i am using a AMD 9850X3D CPU and a RX9070XT GPU. i am aware amd has made a recent update to all amd products and have reported this possible issue to them. i will try to generate a diag report.
Bungie Support here is the diag report via paste bin link: https://pastebin.com/cuyfpxt5
Hi there,
Thanks for the DxDiag.
We are looking into this issue which may also match what you are experiencing. Were you by any chance using AMD Frame Generation before this happened?
The player in that thread does have a workaround, and was able to resolve it by rolling back the drivers to 26.9.2. Have you tried rolling back to that driver?
Yes i was using frame generation the last time i played, i tried the driver rollback again to the version 26.9.2 earlier today too and it worked, thank you.
