    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Please confirm that you are running Marathon on a native, fully updated Windows installation. If you are using a supported Windows PC, please try the following:

    • Launch Marathon directly from Steam.
    • Verify the game files in Steam.
    • Restart your PC after installing all pending Windows updates.
    • Reinstall BattlEye from the Marathon installation folder, then launch the game again.
    • Temporarily disable overlays or security software that may be blocking BattlEye.

If the issue continues, please provide your Windows version and build, whether you are using a laptop or desktop, and a screenshot of the full BattlEye error message so we can investigate further.

  • Hi, this is on a native Linux installation through Proton. I've tried a few different Proton versions and none of them can get past this error. Some will crash before getting to this error though I reckon that's an issue with Proton rather than with Marathon.

I'm using a desktop PC, I'm not using anything that would block BattlEye from working. The error from BattlEye simply states "Unsupported Platform". I'm assuming this is some sort of bug as other BattlEye games like Planetside 2, Arma 3, and Enlisted all work fine on my system.

    Thank you,
