Parasitism (3/5) and Parasitism (5/5) interaction bug

  • Description of Issue - I was running contract Parasitism (3/5), and two of my buddies were running Parasitism (5/5).  We all got our required materials, but when I ran over to bio research to inject my shell with the simbiont the contract progressed for my buddies when they needed to go to quarantine to progress the contract.  Mine unfortunately would not progress my contract at all.  Curious as well when putting in the probiotic contract item to the machine the machine kept the item and continuously spat out simbionts as well.  There could of been a chance that I grabbed an extra sample from my buddies using the sparkleaf to create their sample and not my specific biomass created one and that is what caused the contracts to bug out when I put it in the machine, but I am pretty sure I did not grab theirs.  Either way it was an odd situation for us.
  • Rough Date and Time of issue - Occurred 10/7/2026 roughly 4:00MDT
  • Repro steps - Spawn in at Greenhouse.  Run over to grab sparkleaf for 5/5 and unstable biomass for 3/5.  Run over to bio-research to create the samples.  Buddy creates his sample for the greenleaf and grabs it.  I create my sample with the unstable biomass and grab it.  I run over to the machine at north bio-research to install in my shell.  Once simbiont created and installed my buddies contract gets progressed to "allow the simbiont to integrate with shell and then exfil".  My contract still says to inject the simbiont and no matter how many times i put the item in the machine and inject it does not progress. We then give up and exfil and buddies contract fully complete without them ever having to go to quarantine.  Unfortunately I did not get any video of the evidence and I should of when it happened.

    Definitely an interesting bug that occurred for us.  After that I ended up running the 3/5 contract again and did not have any issues completing it.  Just when we were running those two contracts together.

    Please provide the following details to add to your report:

    • Bungie name and platform for both of the Parasitism [5/5] players
    • Which player created and picked up each sample
    • Who interacted with the machine
    • Whether either player dropped, traded, or picked up another player’s sample
    • If possible, footage from your buddy’s perspective if they have it, showing the different contract progress states.

    If one of your buddies does have a video, they can upload the footage to a public video hosting site, like YouTube, then post the link here, and we’ll be glad to take a look.

    • Cam Speedy#9106 and Mezkal#8342 both are Steam
    • Cam Speedy had the sparkleaf. He created his sample and picked it up, and I had the unstable biomass and created my sample and picked it up.
    • I alone interacted with the machine initially which is when the quest contract bugged.
    • I only traded the sparkleaf initially to Cam Speedy at greenhouse cause I found the sparkleaf. I later tried to take his sample that he created and put his in the machine to try and see if that would fix my contract with no luck.
    • Turns out my buddy was streaming so we do have footage! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2894598569?t=00h49m52s  49:50 is the timestamp of the run and 57:50 is the end of the run.
