Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file.

I got this error today and can't do anything about it. I tried reinstalling, running as administrator and disabling antivirus and nothing helps

    Hi there,

    Thank you for reporting this.

Can you share a screenshot of the error message that you are receiving when trying to launch the game?

  • Hi there,

    Thank you for the screenshot.

Could you try the following steps to see if it helps resolve the issue:

    • Restart your PC and launch Marathon from Steam.
    • In Steam, Right-click on Marathon in Steam's Library, Select "Properties" then "Local Files", Select "Verify Integrity of Game Files".
    • Check Windows Security and look at the Protection history to see whether Marathon.exe was blocked or quarantined.
    • Make sure the game is installed on a local drive that is connected and accessible. If it is installed on an external drive, reconnect the drive and try again.
    • If the issue continues, reinstall Marathon to a different local drive.
