Marathon Freezes my PC when Loading into match, or 5-10 minutes after start.

Hello!

First and foremost the title, Whenever I load into a match or a few minutes into the match my PC freezes in which I have to force Restart my PC. This only happens when I'm trying to play Marathon. I've tried verifying my files through Steam, updated my Drivers, Reinstalling BattleEye and various other things over the weeks that I can't recall at this moment. I can't find much on the same problem as me, some players reported similar but not quite exact problem as me. Any information on the topic or Assistance would be great! Thanks!

PC Specs:

10th gen i7

32 gb Ram

3060 12 GB

I play the game on Medium Settings at 1920x1080 Because of previous Optimization Problems

Game is also installed on an SSD.

    Hi there,

    Thank you for reaching out.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with the game freezing when trying to play the game.

To start out, please ensure that all of your drivers, windows, and your BIOS are all fully up-to-date. If you haven't already, please try uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

If you still run into the same issue, can you provide us with a copy of your DxDiag and your Event Viewer entries? You can copy and paste them over on PasteBin and provide us with the links.

  • Hi there,

Thanks for sharing your DxDiag and Event Viewer log.

It shows Windows graphics-related errors, which may be causing the full system freeze.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    • Reinstall the NVIDIA driver and choose Custom installation, then Perform a clean installation.
    • Turn off Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling in Windows.
    • Disable overlays and recording features, including NVIDIA, Steam, and Discord overlays.
    • Disable Frame Generation or NVIDIA Smooth Motion, if it is enabled.
    • If possible, please try testing with one monitor at 60 Hz and set a 60 FPS limit.

If you use any overclocking or undervolting, please return those settings to default while testing.

If the PC continues to freeze after these steps, please contact your PC or graphics-card manufacturer for further assistance, as this appears to be a system, driver, or hardware stability issue rather than a standard game crash.
