Revive backoff timer resets upon cancelling mid-revive
I'm writing to report a bug that I encountered last night, June 13th. This bug occurred multiple times, during multiple games, all on the map Cryo Archive.
When I say "backoff timer," I mean the delay before you can revive your teammate when they are full killed and turn into a deathbox. This timer is 1 minute on Cryo, and shorter on other maps.
Here's the pattern:
- Teammate is knocked and fully killed, resulting in their death bag appearing on the ground
- Revive backoff timer starts as normal (1 minute)
- One minute later, timer expires. Revive becomes available
- Begin reviving teammate
- Cancel revive midway through, by any means. Either moving out of range, or releasing revive button.
- Backoff timer is reset to 1 minute.
This didn't occur every time I went to revive one of my teammates from a bag - but it did happen multiple times across multiple games. Once it happened twice on the same revive. I essentially had to wait 3 minutes to revive my teammate. I was very careful not to cancel the revive on the third try. We're lucky we weren't wiped by a team while affected by this bug, as there was a team nearby who we had to defend against 2v3.
We were eventually able to revive the teammate. This was still a meaningful disadvantage which could have cost us our run.
