WEASEL Error After Teammate Disconnected – Constant Online/Offline Status - PC

Hello,

I have been playing Marathon since the beta, and this is the first time I have encountered the WEASEL error.

The issue started when my team had just found a match. Before the game could properly begin, one of my teammates went offline. As a result, I was sent back to the main menu. However, the moment I returned to the menu, I received a WEASEL error.

Since then, I have been completely unable to play. I have tried many of the fixes suggested on various forums and support pages, but none of them have worked.

My teammate later told me that, according to the game, I have been rapidly switching between online and offline status ever since the error occurred, even though I am not actually in the game. He even recorded a video showing this behavior and sent it to me. https://imgur.com/a/bbjyGhi

Has anyone experienced something similar or found a solution? I have already tried most of the common troubleshooting steps available online, and at this point I am running out of ideas and getting quite frustrated.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

  • +1 on this. I signed in completely fine today. Joined a match with some players on console and got booted out right as the game started. Now I constantly get weasel errors and cannot login. Does not seem to be affecting the greater population.

Really annoying. I'm also on Steam.

  • Hello there,

Thank you very much for reaching out to us. I'm sorry to hear that you are getting this error code when playing the game. We've received some reports of this issue and are investigating the underlying issue further. For the time being, we sadly do not have any additional troubleshooting outside of our Basic and Advanced Network Troubleshooting Guides, and the Help Article for the code, if you'd not tried them before.

  • Thank you for your response and for taking the time to help. I had actually tried the solutions you mentioned before submitting my report, but unfortunately none of them worked at the time.

I just tried launching the game again, and while I was previously receiving the error code immediately upon startup, I am no longer encountering the issue. Could it be possible that the constant online/offline behavior made the system think that multiple people were trying to access the same account simultaneously, which then triggered the error? My guess is that after being offline for a while, the account was finally logged out properly and the issue resolved itself.

Thank you again for your assistance.
