Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out.
Please try temporarily disabling your antivirus/firewall/web protection, or add exclusions for Marathon and BattlEye, then fully restart Steam and your PC and try again.
To whitelist Marathon and BattlEye using Kaspersky, go to Settings (Big Cog) > Security Settings (or Additional) > Threats and exclusions > Manage Exclusions and then add both Marathon and BattlEye and save.
I have my firewall turned off and my windows antivirus turned off.
Running into the same issue, did you manage to fix it?
Hi there,
Error code Yam happens when your anti-virus is blocking Marathon's connection to your computer.
You can work around this by either disabling your anti-virus when Marathon and BattlEye are running or by adding those programs to your anti-virus' allow list.
We also recommend reviewing our Advanced Troubleshooting: UPnP, Port Forwarding, and NAT Types guide for additional solutions.
It was none of that on my end, and I'd already checked my antivirus and had turned off my firewall. I was also having issues with other services, so it wasn't just Marathon. I managed to get it to work by using my phone's mobile data and USB tethering to my PC.
Turns out, it was an issue with my ISP, and they fixed it on their end after a call. They said it was a routing issue on their end, so I suspect they had mistakenly assigned the same IP to different end users, causing everything to break.
