voice chat rarely works.
Steam, Win11.
Wired headset, laptop microphone. I followed the troubleshoot guide, didn't help.
My experience has been silence from teammates, with some days encountering many teammates that talk. Then in some matches through text chat I came to learn that the rest of the team could hear each other but not me or vice versa. I then asking often if other teammates are using voice chat, particularly in Cryo, and it's often been the case that they are and I can neither hear or be heard.
I am left wondering if that issue has been happening since launch with voice chat only rarely working, and I just assumed most teammates are silent when they're actually talking and see me as the non communicative teammate.
Considering I play almost daily and have hundreds of hours, and yet can estimate only 10 or less days where I consistently encountered teammates using voice chat, it's probably the case. Not a good experience.
I didn't see many bug reports on the same issue- and tried the advice given in the ones I saw-, but I'd speculate it may be more common that it seems and by its nature goes unnoticeable often.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with voice chat.
Please try the following:
Make sure Voice Chat is enabled in the game settings and that your mic is unmuted in the lobby or during a run.
Check that your headset and microphone are set as the active audio devices in both Windows and the game.
Close any background apps that may affect voice chat, such as Discord, OBS, or a VPN, then relaunch the game.
If possible, test with a different headset or microphone.
If the issue continues, please send us a screenshot of your in-game audio settings and let us know whether you cannot hear others, cannot be heard, or both.
I both can't hear or be heard by others. Outside of the few runs where it works properly. Windows taskbar indicates marathon has access to my mic, and the mic symbol on the hud activates even when teammates can't hear me.
Don't use Discord, OBS, or a VPN.

Your settings appear to be set correctly, so if you would like to try a few more advanced steps, please try the following:
Volume Mixer doesn't have a separate voice chat slider. Only enabled devices are the ones in use. MTU is 1492. Don't have another headset, and I'm not using its mic. Voice chat has worked without any settings alteration. I killed compiler with a team I matched with where it did.
