Windows Taskbar not hiding

Platform: PC (Steam) OS: Windows 11 Description: The Windows taskbar remains visible when playing in fullscreen mode. Moving the mouse to the bottom of the screen causes the taskbar to appear on top of the game, which is disruptive during gameplay. This does not happen with any other game on my system. All other titles correctly hide the taskbar in fullscreen. The issue is isolated to Marathon. What I’ve tried: • Restarting Windows Explorer • Closing all background applications • Alt+Tab in and out of the game • Uninstalling Windows Copilot • Verifying game file integrity via Steam None of the above resolved the issue. The game appears to not be acquiring proper fullscreen focus, causing Windows to treat it as a windowed application.

    Hi,

Thanks for the report and for sharing the troubleshooting you’ve already tried.

Could you please try the following and let us know the results:

    • Test with only one monitor connected

    • Fully close any overlay or capture apps such as Teams, Discord overlay, GeForce Experience, or Xbox Game Bar

    • Switch the game from Fullscreen to Windowed Fullscreen/Borderless, apply, then switch back to Fullscreen

If the issue still happens after that, please send us:

    • A short clip showing the taskbar appearing over the game

    • Whether you use one monitor or multiple

    • Whether any overlay, call, or capture app was open at the time

    • Your display mode, resolution, and whether Windows taskbar auto-hide is enabled

Please use your platform's capture button to take a video. You can upload the footage to a public video hosting site, like YouTube, then post the link here and we’ll be glad to take a look.
