Bug, exploit, or cheat, lets players crash an entire lobby (video clip evidence)
Hi bungie devs,
Me and my friends were running a cryo 6 key (the one that takes hundreds of hours of outpost farming to get), and when we engaged a team (2 on a team were downed), everyone in the lobby's client crashed at the same time. After I reconnected, there was a squad that was up and killed everyone alive.
I think that squad used a bug, cheat/client modification to crash everyone's game in the lobby. I've had the game crash for myself, but for everyone to crash at the same time, then for one team to not be affected, is a sign of a bug or exploit going on.
The link below is a twitch clip of me and everyone else crashing mid-fight, and loading back in dead:
clip 1 (me, my team mates, and another team crashing): https://www.twitch.tv/moxielf/clip/BrainyCrazyMeerkatLitFam-ZvI_ef_niM6drO-B
clip 2 (me, reconnecting at the same time as my team mates, finding ourselves dead): https://www.twitch.tv/moxielf/clip/ArbitraryBreakableWebJebaited-eu2RAx-b5kMQNTbU
my player tag is: mox#2874
my team mates tags are: MeekCheetah2543#3764 , Voriium#8359
the player tags of the people that killed me are:
[redacted]
Can we have our gear, items, and most importantly, our cryo 6 key, re-imbursed due to a bug, cheat, or exploit, that affected the entire lobby, and was entirely out of the control of the players? A stable gaming experience is the responsibility of the game provider, and that includes dealing with cheats, and exploits.
I'd like to ask an investigation be taken into all the accounts present in that lobby to identify what happened, and if there is a possibility of cheats or exploits having been used deliberately, to kill our team.
Regardless, a full lobby-wide crash is really demotivating especially considering the rarity of the items we need to even access the content we're playing.
Moderation note: Posting the names of players on our forums you believe to be cheating is a violation of our Code of Conduct and may result in a forum ban because our Security Team does not monitor our forums. Players should use the contact form on this page to report any suspected cheating.

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out.
If you would like to report a player for misconduct, please use the relevant form on this page: Report Suspected Cheating and Poor Behavior.
Additionally, you can report players in-game via the Social menu -> Recent Players -> View Profile -> Report Player. The forums are not able to assist with player reports.
any update on this? its been a day since its happened and zero communication is really upsetting
hey bungie support! I'm not specifically reporting player misconduct. There is an issue that caused several players to simultaneously have their game clients crash, at the same time! I believe player misconduct may be taking place, but there is an underlying issue that is the primary point of concern. Could you please provide a full and adequate response to the entirety of this report, please?
Hello there,
We understand how frustrating it is to lose progress and valuable items in a situation like this. We also understand why this may have seemed suspicious. However, the support forums are not able to verify whether another player was cheating, exploiting, or otherwise responsible based on a report alone, and issues like this may also be caused by broader server or connection problems rather than player misconduct.
If you suspect cheating or players using exploits, please use the in-game reporting tools or the Report Suspected Cheating contact form, as those are the proper channels for those investigations. Bungie’s Security Team does not monitor the forums for these reports.
Support is unable to restore any lost loot, and any refunds that can be offered are handled automatically by the game systems, not manually through support. In some cases involving certain server-side issues, the game may attempt to automatically return starting gear, but those cases are handled by the game systems.
