All social features in Marathon appear disabled on my account.
My Steam account is linked correctly to Bungie.net and my account age is set correctly (19). My microphone and audio work normally
I recently made this Bungie account and linked it to Steam. There are no ban/restriction messages shown anywhere on my account.
the only thing I see is that my account permission are restricted but I never restricted any use of social

Please check Marathon for any permissions or restriction notice, follow any steps shown there, then fully sign out and back in.
If social features are still disabled after that, could you share a screenshot of the “account permissions are restricted” message or the screen where your social features are locked?
I do not receive a specific “account permissions are restricted” warning anywhere in Marathon.
However, all social features appear disabled in the settings menu. I have attached a screenshot showing:
I am also unable to send or receive Bungie friend requests from other players.

The message in your screenshot means the account is currently being treated as restricted, which is why the voice and social settings are greyed out.
Please sign into the correct Bungie account and check your permissions and the birthdate that was input here: https://www.bungie.net/permissions.
If you’re 19, this does not automatically mean the account is a child account. It can also be caused by an incorrect date-of-birth or platform privacy settings on the linked platform account. After checking permissions and platform settings, please fully restart the game.
I gave kws my id and it still somehow got my date of birth wrong somehow getting 26th of september instead of the 27th there is NO need for parental account since im a ADULT and now I can update my birth anymore and what kind of privacy settings am I supposed to fix and what permission am I looking for
there is simply a problem with the DOB and I dont know why im restricted and there isnt any platform permissions issues

Thanks for the extra details. Based on the symptoms you described, this appears to be an account age-gating issue.
The disabled social options and restricted message indicate your account is currently being treated as restricted, which can happen when the stored date of birth on the Bungie account is incorrect.

hope they know cause ive given my accurate date of birth several times and somehow they still get 26 instead of 27th and because ive been restricted i cant play with my friends that bought me this game and its very frustrating that it taking this long to get it fixed
question if my place of residence could be a cause of this social in marathon
