Sudden FPS Drop in Places Previously Unaffected
- Bungie Account Name - Lilith.#9411
- Platform - Steam
- Description of Issue - When in a run, my FPS has suddenly dropped significantly with no changes to my PC, the game, or the build/maps I am running. My PC specs are below average (Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700 CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz, Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable), Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB (3 GB), Intel(R) HD Graphics 630 (128 MB)), however I was able to get the game to run 40fps consistently before today, which allowed me to at the very least enjoy the game. My FPS is unchanged in menus, but there is a significant drop (from 60 down to 15) toward the end of loading screens that persists at every area of every map, though this is untested in Cryo Archive as it is currently unavailable, and even if it were, I would not want to grief other players and lose valuables. This has led to consistent loss of equipment as well as inconsistent hitboxes on all hostiles, leading to missed melee on UESC and easily avoidable death. No real graphics testing environment exists, so I have tried testing recommended benchmarks with an empty loadout in Perimeter and Dire Marsh respectively due to their varying level of foliage and graphical intensity.
- Rough Date and Time of issue - Approx. 7:00pm EST, 04/27/2026, and onward. Issue is consistent and occurs despite further PC and graphics setting optimization per Bungie suggestion, as well as through device and application restarts.
