Voice Chat ONLY functions in the Lobby. While in a game, crew & proximity chat do not work. (PC)
In the lobby:
- my teammates can hear my chat input.
- I can hear my teammates.
However, when I am in-game:
- The chat icon next to my name will indicate that I am talking (my mic is being picked up)
- The chat icon next to my name will indicate that I have activated prox chat (the icon switches to orange)
- My teammates NEVER hear my mic
- I can NEVER hear my teammates in-game chat
- I can NEVER hear proximity chat
- Additionally, I cannot see when other people are talking (there is no indication for prox chat OR crew chat)
I have tried:
- disabling all other sources audio inputs/outputs in windows besides the source I actively use.
- resetting all settings in Marathon
- re-installing Marathon
- changing ISPs (yes - I have switched from AT&T to Comcast to try and fix this)
- changing accounts (yes - I bought the game twice to try and fix this)
- changing headsets (I used to use an Arctis Nova Pro Wireless headset, now I use a Logitech Pro X 2 Lightspeed)
I have been playing for 300+ hours and still have not been able to find a fix for this. Every time I bring it up, people provide the same advice; I have tried.

Hi again,
Thanks so much for the detailed report and for all the troubleshooting you’ve already done.
Our team received similar reports of this nature and it's currently being investigated on. In the meantime, could you take a look at our Audio & Voice Troubleshooting guide and see if any of the recommended steps there might resolve your voice chat issue?
I'm thinking your Record settings inside your PC device settings might be the key:
Another thing to try would be to search for Microphone Privacy Settings in the Windows search bar, go into Microphone under Privacy, and make sure that Marathon is listed under "Let apps access your microphone".
If the issue still persists, please let us know.
