just another performance post to fall on deaf ears ig
Bungie,
Who is this game actually for? Because right now, it isn't for a considerably substantial amount people who bought it, supported it, and are genuinely trying to stick with it through the technical mess.
We just got Update 1.0.6, and instead of the "ongoing investigations" leading to actual fixes, the game is running worse than it did at launch. We’re seeing consistent 20 to 30% FPS drops during firefights and broken frame pacing that of which makes a competitive extraction shooter unplayable and frankly hard to enjoy despite the clear promise/pull the game has.
The "Performance Guide" was a slap in the face. Telling us to drop our render resolution to 25% isn't "troubleshooting", it’s an admission that your engine is broken. When the official solution for a 2026 title is "make the game look like a PS2 tech demo to hit 60 FPS," you’ve failed at basic optimization. We know this is a CPU bound bottleneck; we can see the 50% CPU load at the login screen before we even load into a map. No amount of "clearing shader caches" will fix your technical debt.
The Discord is a black hole. When we post here, we’re told to go to the Discord. But in the "Runner Chatter" feedback section, the single most active thread now with over 600+ reactions is titled verbatim "PERFORMANCE ISSUE STILL IN GAME AND NO PATCH NOTES ?!?!?!?!?!"
It is the loudest, most consistent piece of feedback you have, yet it never makes it into the "Developer Insights." We see the UI icon changes, mercy kit additions, etc. But we don’t see a single line of text addressing the fact that a massive chunk of your player base has left because they physically cannot play the game.
Stop prioritizing the "1% hardware" niche and start fixing the core engine for the people trying to genuinely enjoy the game they spent their money on and want it to succeed.

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out.
While we appreciate your feedback, the best place to share it is on the Marathon Discord rather than our Help Forums. If you haven't already done so, please share your feedback and suggestions there.
