  Error code W:8:0002EE2 means the client can’t connect to the Marathon servers.

  Please try these steps:

  1. Check server status

     • Make sure there isn’t any scheduled maintenance or downtime.

  2. Restart everything

     • Fully close the game and Steam.
     • Reboot your PC and your router/modem.
     • Then relaunch Steam and the game.

  3. Check your network and security software

     • If you’re using a VPN or proxy, turn it off and try without it.
     • Make sure your firewall and antivirus aren’t blocking Marathon or Steam (add them to the allowed list/exceptions).
     • If possible, try a wired (Ethernet) connection instead of Wi-Fi.

  4. Verify game files in Steam

     • Library → Marathon → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files.
