Shockingly Poor Official Discord Moderation - APPEAL FORM/SITE IS NON-FUNCTIONAL
Volunteer mods in the official Discord server are extremely selective with who/what they time out (often letting trolls go on and on for hours) and dish out 24h to ONE WEEK timeouts for the smallest infraction, WITH ZERO HEADS UP, OR EXPLANATION. I had been arguing against a few blatantly false points an angry troll was making, and trash talked them a little bit. It is completely absurd to get timed out for SEVEN DAYS and messages deleted for this.
I dm'ed a mod about the situation, they redirected me to the Marathon Appeals website. Great! Except it doesn't work. Nor could the mod get it to work. This is apallingly poor quality moderation for a server with hundreds of thousands of users, doesn't matter if they're volunteer mods or not. Some degree of professionalism or at the bare minimum explanations for long timeouts seems like common sense. We're unable to handle appeals on the Help Forums. If the appeal form isn't working when submitting your username, try removing the "@" symbol in front.
I reported the Marathon Official server to discord trust and safety for a deliberately dysfunctional moderation system. You can do so too through their support platform.
