Why can't I sign in with Ethernet?
"Signing in, until the end of time" guy here.
I am stuck on the "Signing in..." screen, but it's only when I'm using my Ethernet. But when I tried Mobile Hotspot through my phone, and USB-Tethering. I can sign in and play the game normally. This is the only trick that works for me, but unfortunately it is a very unstable way of playing the game.
Especially when the mobile hotspot decides to turn off in the middle of a PvP fight in Pinwheel.
I have tried most of the other recommended steps from the Network Troubleshooting guides. But I'm curious and would like to know. What is, or what could be causing this issue? As Wired Ethernet Connection is the recommended way of playing the game, it would be awesome to go back to how things were.

Hello Tevu. I’m a fellow Runner in the same boat, stuck on "Signing in..." since the March 31st update. I’m playing on PS5 in Japan—completely different region and platform from you, but suffering from the exact same issue.
Just so you know, I’ve been in contact with Bungie’s development team (not just the basic support), and they’ve acknowledged the data for investigation. A fix for all affected users should be in the works.
I’m personally expecting a resolution around the next weekly maintenance. Let's stay patient and wait for the green light together!
