Account Permissions limiting chat
My account permissions are not allowing me use chat/voice chat/add friends/party with friends. When creating the account I chose to limit chat communications but not understanding that it would block everything. I can not longer reverse that change or alter those see things even after proving through all of Bungie’s systems that I am adult.
This is my second post, as I was directed to a website to submit a ticket. They were able to confirm that my account is indeed not a child account and that they were unable to assist further. Just posting here to see if anyone else finds a solution.

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out,
There are three separate places that can block chat/friends/parties, and all of them have to allow it before Marathon will let you change those options in-game. Please check the following:
Platform privacy / family settings
Even if you’ve told Bungie you’re an adult, your Xbox account can still have strict communication limits:
are set to Allow / Everyone / Friends (not Block).
Bungie.net account age & linking
Please note that In-game settings won’t unlock until 1 & 2 are correct.
The “accidentally disabled chat” choice on first launch and your current platform/Bungie permissions are what’s greying out the options. Once the platform privacy settings allow voice/text and friends/parties, and your Bungie profile is correctly linked, the in-game options should unlock on next restart.
