Name changed to redacted
Im an xbox player with the gamertag Beasty1488. Ive had this gamertag since i was 14, Beasty plus the last 4 digits of my phone number. But now im forced into confusion because people call me redacted, and the friends ive made dont recognize my tag. Why would xbox allow my name for 15 years but bungie not allow it. Id love to even be allowed to edit it

Hi there,
When a name is reset to 'Redacted####' it means Bungie reviewed a report and determined that the original name violated the Code of Conduct or Bungie Name Policy. As a result, the name was filtered and can no longer be used.
If you haven’t already changed your name before, you can try selecting a new one. However, if the system doesn’t allow further changes, there’s unfortunately no way to bypass that restriction.
