Description of Issue - Standing on Exfil in Cryo Archive as the match is ending, in the exfil animation and we died to end of match timer. Is this intentional or is this a bug? We are standing in the exfil before the match ended yet we still died, because the timer of the exfil reset, even though we stayed inside of the circle? Here is a clip to demonstrate what happened, from two POVs. I assume this is a bug, can we get our items back if this was not intended to happen? plz bungie :)

Repro steps - I think if you step off and back on a terminal exfil after 10 seconds left on game timer, it resets; however, we had people stay in the exfil when our teammate ran out of the exfil, so we believe that it shouldn't have reset itself/there was no reason for it to reset itself.

Hello there,
Thank you for reaching out.
Right now, Cryo is set up so that the overall match timer is the hard cutoff:
Cryo doesn’t have a separate “final” exfil; you always have to start and finish an exfil before the main session timer hits 0:00.
If you trigger an exfil in the last couple of minutes, its timer gets clamped to that same session timer and effectively becomes your final exfil — but you still need the full exfil sequence to complete before the match timer expires.
When the match timer hits 0:00 and the exfil hasn’t fully resolved yet, the game treats it as a failed extraction, even if you’re already in the circle / in the animation.
We’re not able to restore items or progress lost due to disconnects, lag, or other connection issues. In cases where a qualifying server‑side error happens, any refunds that can be offered are handled automatically by the game systems, not manually through support.
In the event that an error occurs with Bungie’s server or network infrastructure, connection recovery may not be possible. We will attempt to ensure that any players affected by a server error will have their starting gear returned to them.
Note: Gear refund only applies to a subset of server error conditions, and will not cover gameplay losses due to Internet connectivity or client-side problems.
To reduce the chance of this happening again, I’d also recommend going through general network troubleshooting (wired connection if possible, router/modem restart, closing bandwidth‑heavy apps, etc.) before starting higher‑stakes runs like Cryo.

Okay, then, as a player, let me provide feedback.
This system feels bad, if you reference the clip; we are clearly acting intentionally on exfiling before the timer ends. We keep players in the exfil circle and when one teammate runs out it resets the entire timer. Now, what if I was filled? I have 0 autonomy and control over my own outcomes/exfil if this is what happens. Why does the exfil strap itself to the game timer but function differently than every other raid? Inconsistencies make the game weirdly punishing and unfun. These are the types of moments/responses from dev teams that make me not want to play certain games.
It's obviously not a networking issue, it's an error/perceived error in design choice. Every single other exfil on every other map launches when the timer hits zero, it's a weird and almost arbitrary mechanic to have to go into the exfil at 10 seconds before end of the raid. You understand what I mean? This feels bad, like really bad; my team should have been out of the raid, we're punished for something that is not a clearly outlined/obvious mechanic (timer resetting from ONE person stepping out while THERE ARE STILL PLAYERS in the exfil.)
