Exfil bug on cryo archives

I believe my team got bugged back to back for our exfils on cryo archive. We activated a terminal then it immediately started counting down from 10 upon activation and it flickered in-between the traverse timer and the exfil then went out. I activated a terminal AGAIN and it happened immediately.

We then perished to the final exfil (fair game as we don't understand all the potential final locations..) but we believe it is unfair to die due to "missing" the first two as we did not even have a chance to traverse.

    Hello there,
Thank you for reaching out and reporting this issue.

The exfil terminal should not immediately flip into a 10‑second countdown and flicker between traverse and exfil states the moment you activate it. What you’re describing (instant timer + UI flicker + no real traverse window) is not expected behavior and is worth investigating.

We’re not able to manually refund runs or deaths from this, but your report is still very useful. If you can, please add:
    Your platform (Steam/Epic/Xbox/PS5)
    Your Bungie name
Rough time + timezone of the match
Whether this was a guarded or unguarded exfil, and which terminal on Cryo you were using
The video link you mentioned, uploaded to a site like YouTube, if you’re comfortable sharing it

Those details make it much easier for the team to track down what’s happening with that Cryo exfil behavior so other crews don’t get caught by it the same way.

If you want my POV (Mostly_Salt#6498) let me know
It happened around 10pm pst as you can see I also activated a terminal and the same thing happened.

Non-return of items for perishing to a bug 2x in a row seems.. unfair? We were fully kitted in purple with one of us having prestige items. Dying to missing to final is one thing but we consistently make our targeted exfils when activating a console and we lost it twice to something out of our control.

  • That is my POV - please humor me - don’t your policies indicate that we will be refunded items due to a bug on your end? If that’s not the case could you please explain what exactly that policy covers?

    Thanks!

  • Hello there,
    Thank you for reaching out.

We’re not able to restore items or progress lost due to disconnects, lag, or other connection issues. In cases where a qualifying server‑side error happens, any refunds that can be offered are handled automatically by the game systems, not manually through support.

In the event that an error occurs with Bungie’s server or network infrastructure, connection recovery may not be possible. We will attempt to ensure that any players affected by a server error will have their starting gear returned to them.

Note: Gear refund only applies to a subset of server error conditions, and will not cover gameplay losses due to Internet connectivity or client-side problems.

  • I have my POV of the second exfil so you can see the terminal used: https://youtu.be/kZ2WefYQWyQ

Can you link your policies on major bugs such as exfils potentially not working as intended and the players losing items due to this? If it's only due to network issues server side then that's fine but I'd like to see that policy listed.

  • Our network troubleshooting guide has some info regarding loot loss found here.

    Connection Recovery: Disconnected During Gameplay
When you are in the middle of a high-stakes run, losing your network connection can lead to a life or death situation. If you crash or get disconnected, your shell will remain in the game world, and can be protected by your crew. Just remain calm, restart your network connection if needed, and launch back into the game to reconnect to your shell and complete your run.
