Game crashes console on launch

On PS5 after playing and closing the game and suspending the console, attempting to launch the game causes either a black screen that never goes away, (audio still plays and button responses are audible) or it completely freezes the console forcing me to hard reset the PS5. This happens 9/10 times that I play and the only way I've been able to resolve it is by fully unpowering the console at this point.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the report.

    If you are still experiencing crashing when trying to play Marathon, can you please try the following:

    • Completely power down your PS5 (not rest mode), wait 30 seconds, then start it back up.
    • Check for and install any system updates (PS5 system software)
    • On PS5, you can also try Rebuilding the Database by going into Safe Mode → Rebuild Database.
    • Reinstall Marathon and Clear your console's cache (Please check this guide)

    Also, please make sure your console has good ventilation. Overheating can trigger safety shutdowns that look like random crashes.
