Thief - X-Ray Visor - Frame drop upon activation/spotting enemy

I've been playing multiple games with Thief, as her kit is something i'd love to get used to playing with, but everytime i activate X-Ray Visor, the game seems to suffer immense frame drops when highlighting certain entities. It is the only time i ever have frame drops in this game, on highest settings, though it's not just drops, it's freezes.

I've encountered two possible scenarios: 
- Either it is when there are too many entities around the player, and it takes too long to calculate the position of hidden entities to the X-Ray Visor. Frame drops occured way more often in high-density areas, like the inside of big buildings

-Either it is when attempting to highlight enemies.

Those two scenarios always made it worse for the frame-rate

I have attached a video sample to show a case scenario of a freeze occuring, with both scenarios possibly adding up, leading to a little over 1 second freeze, both visual and audio, albeit in a horrible moment. Thus making playing Thief a little unconsistent.

Edit: Forgot to mention, as i've seen other posts about this problem, and all the people who specified their specs mentioned they run the game on an AMD GPU. So am I, in this video: RX 6950XT

    I've encountered the same problem. It took me days to figure out exactly what was happening and find this post. This issue, however, is still not solved.


    I believe it's likely to be AMD related.

    I hope this gets fixed soon, as I imagine many more people are suffering from it and have no clue what's happening.

    • Description of Issue - 1 second or longer stutter/freeze when spotting an enemy with the Thief X-Ray Visor active for the first time in a match.
    • Rough Date and Time of issue - March 22nd, 2026 - 3 AM CEST
    • Repro steps - With the Thief X-Ray Visor active, have an enemy runner in your line of sight. Seems to only happen once per match.

    I'm having the exact same issue with thief. First enemy runner spotted with thief xray vision every match will freeze my game for 1-2 seconds.

    My specs are an AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d CPU, an AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT GPU, and 2x16 Trident Z Neo ddr4 RAM.
