Crash to Desktop During Matchmaking After Update (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
- Bungie Account Name - Jimmy#6331
- Platform - Steam

Description of Issue - The game runs smoothly with no issues on the main menu or when accessing the Vault and loadout customisation. However, since the new update, it crashes when loading into a match. The crash can happen at different points, sometimes immediately after loading in, and other times a few seconds into the match. Until that moment, performance is completely normal. When it crashes, the game freezes briefly and then closes with no error message.
I have also tried reinstalling my drivers, rolling back to an older graphics driver, and closing background programs, but none of these steps have resolved the issue.
- Rough Date and Time of issue - Every time I start matchmaking, so during the loading screen. If I manage to reconnect, I am only able to play for a couple of seconds before it kicks me off again where I then loose all my sweet, sweet goop.
- Repro steps (the first instance) - Log in -> start matchmaking for trios -> crash to desktop -> log-in (again) -> reconnect to match -> find out I am eliminated and have lost my sweet sweet loadout goop -> (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Hi there,
Thanks for the report! We're seeing a rise in reports about this and are currently investigating. Rest assured that crashes are automatically reported to us when they occur.
In the meantime, we recommend keeping your GPU drivers and Windows version fully updated.

Try update the Intel Management Engine, as this seems to fix the issue for some people here in the forums.
Hello again everyone,
The fix I came up with yesterday was:
Updating your BIOS (dont do any tuning apart xmp/expo) and Intel Management Engine.
After that I suggest also:
Go to the location where your game is installed, for me its C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Marathon\battleye
Right click on Uninstall_BattlEye -> Run as Administrator -> uninstall it
Then
Right click on Install_BattlEye -> Run as Administrator -> install it
You can also just delete the insides of this folder and game/steam will redownload it back.
If that doesnt work then I am out of ideas and this probably needs official fix.
