Connection Error W:8:00002EE2 Caused Gear Loss During Run
Hello,
I encountered a connection issue while playing Marathon after the 1.0.5 update.
During gameplay, I was disconnected from the server and received the following error message:
"W:8:00002EE2 – Marathon servers are unavailable."
As a result, I lost all of my equipped gear during the run.
This issue started occurring after installing update 1.0.5 and appears to be a server-side problem rather than a local network issue, as my internet connection was stable at the time.
System specifications:
- OS: Windows 11 Pro (Version 10.0.26200, Build 26200)
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
- RAM: 64 GB
- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3090
- Storage: NVMe M.2 Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB
I request restoration of my lost gear, as the loss was caused by a server-side network error beyond my control.

In the event that an error occurs with Bungie’s server or network infrastructure, connection recovery may not be possible. We will attempt to ensure that any players affected by a server error will have their starting gear returned to them.
Note: Gear refund only applies to a subset of server error conditions, and will not cover gameplay losses due to Internet connectivity or client-side problems.

My internet connection is stable and working properly. I have verified this myself — there are no packet losses or connectivity issues.
I am not using a VPN and I do not have any custom DNS settings.
The problem started immediately after your latest update.
In one match, I was disconnected but the game managed to reconnect me. In another match, I was disconnected again, and the game was unable to reconnect me for more than 10 minutes. By that time, the match had already ended.
I request that my lost gear be restored. Otherwise, I will be forced to stop playing the game.
If I take my best gear into a run and your servers disconnect again, with no compensation provided, then there is no point in playing an extraction shooter where everything revolves around loot.
I am waiting for your resolution.
