Rebinding quick ping

So I have a problem, for some reason my laptop dont register the input when I click my scroll wheel down. So I rebound the ping button, however it only works while not in a menu. As soon as I open the map or get into looting I cannot use my new ping button. This is mad unfortunate since Im not able to ping anything for my self in solo runs since my scroll wheel inputs dont show up for some reason.
