Disconnected mid-run with no option to reconnect, lost all gear

Today at roughy 19:20 - 19:25 UTC+2 I was disconnected (code Monkey) roughly 20 minutes into an Outpost run, with no option to reconnect. The disconnect screen lead straight into a "Continue waiting?" screen with an option of returning to lobby and continuing to wait. After multiple attempts of continuing to wait I restarted the game and the console as many times as the match timer allowed me to, each of them leading to the same "Continue waiting?" screen until my team extracted without me.

The disconnect happened jarringly mid-action with no lag or indicator that anything was wrong as the game was running responsively. I was playing in a crossplay lobby on a PlayStation 5, with a crew consisting of another PlayStation 5 player in the same network, and a PC player in a different network, and I was the only one affected by the issue. My console is connected to the router through a LAN-cable and speedtests indicate 690 Mbps down and 270 up with a ping of 8 ms.

I lost everything I brought with me, and all of the loot from multiple squad wipes and Rooks.

    We're sorry to hear about this issue. 

    In the event that an error occurs with Bungie’s server or network infrastructure, connection recovery may not be possible. We will attempt to ensure that any players affected by a server error will have their starting gear returned to them. 

    Note: Gear refund only applies to a subset of server error conditions, and will not cover gameplay losses due to Internet connectivity or client-side problems.

  • Thank you for the quick reply. I did not experience any issues with internet connectivity as I remained in a Discord-voice call with my crew the entire time, and all of PlayStation Network services were working as intended. My teammate on the same network was also completely unaffected.
