PS5 overheating and crashing routinely
Had this happen four times since launch, my PS5 will overheat and shut down. This can happen in menus and while in match.
I have a base PS5 and I have done a deep clean of it, and still this occurs. This does not happen with any other game; I can play for hours on more graphically intensive titles and have no issues, yet I can’t play Marathon for more than an hour without risking this happening.
Naturally it’s ruining my enjoyment of the game, seeing as I don’t want to bring remotely good loot into a match knowing there’s a good chance my PS5 will crash and I will lose it.

First, have you tried deleting and re-installing Marathon to see if it help resolve the crashing? You can use our guide here for the exact steps.
If re-installation doesn't help and you encounter the overheating again, please use your platform's capture button to take a video. You can upload the footage to a public video hosting site, like YouTube, then post the link here and we’ll be glad to take a look. Alternatively you could use a cellphone to take the video as well.
I have the same problem. Crashed 4-5 times. And the 2 last times were in back to back games. I think it got worse after the update. Can't remember if I hade before that.
I’ve tried reinstalling and the same issue occurs. Usually it happens at around 1 hour of constant play. Can’t do a video capture because the PS5 dies when it happens but I’ll have to try a capture off my phone; though there’s not much to really show. There’s no clear sign it’s about to happen. It just does.
There is more people that have the same issue. And the ps5 just losses all power. To get it bak on you ned to take the power cord out and inn again.
Having the same problem. I played the server slam and had no issues. Really hope they fix this.
