Showing that I don't have permissions for voicechat on xbox.
I’m playing Marathon on Xbox Series S and voice chat is completely disabled due to “account restrictions.” The voice chat settings in-game are greyed out.
When attempting to enable voice chat, the game directs me to bungie.net/permissions to verify my account, but the verification process loops and does not resolve the restriction.
Here is everything I’ve already checked or attempted:
• Xbox Party Chat works normally.
• Xbox privacy settings are set to Custom, with the following enabled:
– “Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites” → Everybody
– “You can communicate outside Xbox with voice & text” → Allow
– “Cross-network play” → Allow
• Xbox account is properly linked on Bungie.net under Game Platform Accounts (Xbox – DevyGoodTimes).
• Logged into Bungie.net and checked Account / Privacy settings.
• Attempted Bungie verification through the permissions page multiple times.
• Removed and re-added my Xbox account on the console.
• Cleared the Xbox alternate MAC address and restarted the console.
• Fully power cycled the console.
• Tested voice chat settings in Destiny 2, and voice chat cannot be enabled there either.
• Voice chat settings are greyed out in Marathon, not just disabled.
Current result: voice chat remains disabled due to “account restrictions” in both Marathon and Destiny 2 despite Xbox communication permissions being enabled.
Any help would be appreciated.
