Cannot connect to game server while antivirus is active
Hello,
I am experiencing a connection issue. I use Kaspersky antivirus, and even after adding the game to my firewall exceptions, the game returns the following error message: w:8:80090305.
The only way I can successfully connect to the game server is by pausing my antivirus protection entirely and restarting Steam.
I've spoken with a few friends who are experiencing the exact same problem while using different antivirus programs. I suspect that something regarding the game's server routing is conflicting with antivirus software in general.
Any help to resolve this without having to disable my antivirus would be appreciated.

Could you try whitelisting both Marathon and BattlEye, then launch the game and see if Kaspersky still blocks the game from connecting?
