Application-Specific Screen Share Causes Cursor to Stop Working (Must Share Entire Screen) – RTX 4060 Ti / Windows 11
Description:
When attempting to share Marathon directly through Discord using the “Share Application” option, the in-game cursor becomes completely unresponsive.
As soon as I start sharing the specific game window, I can no longer click or interact with menus. The cursor appears stuck and does not register input properly. The only workaround is to stop sharing the application and instead share my entire screen.
When sharing the full display instead of the specific application, the cursor works normally and the game is playable.
Steps to Reproduce:
-
Launch Marathon via Steam
-
Open Discord
-
Select “Share Application” and choose the Marathon game window
-
Return to the game
Result: Cursor becomes unresponsive and menus cannot be interacted with.
-
Stop sharing the application
-
Share the entire screen instead
Result: Cursor works normally again.
Expected Result:
The game should function normally when shared as a specific application in Discord.
Actual Result:
Sharing the application directly causes the cursor to stop responding. Sharing the entire screen works as a temporary workaround.
