Accessing and Restoring Licenses to Marathon Content

If a player is experiencing issues when attempting to access Marathon, DLC, pre-order, or redeemed content, they likely have lost access to the platform licenses for that content. Steps for accessing and restoring licenses vary between gaming platforms, and sometimes will require assistance from PlayStation SupportXbox Support, or Steam Support.

Please see below for detailed steps on how to access and restore licenses for Marathon content, in addition to managing game Add-Ons.

PlayStation 5

Restore Licenses

  1. Log into the Playstation account that purchased the content.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Go to Users and Accounts
  4. Go to Other
  5. Select Restore Licenses. Choose OK when finished.
  6. Go to the PS5 Library and select the game in question.
    • For games, select Download to begin the downloading process.
    • For downloadable content, select PlayStation Store to find the digital content in question. If the content has already been downloaded it will display [Purchased].

If issues continue when attempting to access Marathon content, players may be required to contact PlayStation Support for additional troubleshooting steps.
 

Manage Game Add-Ons

Players having issues with their add-ons should restore their Marathon licenses. If players still experience issues, they should contact PlayStation Support to verify their purchase.

For players who purchased an expansion successfully but still can’t access it or other items, they may need to manually reinstall all add-ons:

  1. Highlight Marathon on the home screen
  2. Press the Options button on the controller
  3. Select "Manage Game Content"
  4. Select the download button to install any add-ons that aren't installed

Xbox Series X|S

Restore Licenses

Starting from the dashboard:
  1. Turn on the Xbox system
  2. Sign into the Xbox profile that has purchased Marathon content
  3. Select My Games and Apps
  4. Select Marathon and then select Install
  5. Download and install progress can be viewed in the Queue section of the menu
  6. A progress bar will appear while the game is being installed on the console hard drive

If issues continue when attempting to access Marathon content, players may be required to contact Xbox Support for additional troubleshooting steps.

Players on Steam should: 

  1. Go to their “Library” 
  2. Right-click on Marathon
  3. Click “Properties"
  4. Click the “DLC” tab
  5. Make sure that all appropriate DLC is installed
 
If an expansion or item isn’t listed, players need to purchase that expansion or contact Steam Support for transaction issues.
